Take video notes in the Brave browser — one quick setting and you're ready.
HoverNotes now fully supports Brave. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store, enable one browser setting, and your video notes save straight to your Obsidian vault — local-first, just like in Chrome.
Three steps, about a minute:
brave://flags/#file-system-access-apiBrave doesn't let websites open brave:// links, so you'll need to copy and paste it.
Brave ships with the File System Access API turned off by default. HoverNotes uses that API to save notes and screenshots directly into your Obsidian vault on your computer — no cloud copy — so it needs the API enabled, exactly as it works in Chrome.
You can skip this page entirely: the HoverNotes editor detects Brave and walks you through these same steps the first time you open it.
